Creating Engineering Capacity in the Design and Use of Mass Timber Construction

The Process ...
To bring CWC’s vision to life, AligneDesigns began by carefully reviewing the 36 existing training videos to extract key topics and structure the content into a logical learning pathway. We collaborated with CWC to establish clear learning outcomes at both the course and lesson levels, ensuring that the material aligned with industry standards while meeting the needs of diverse learners. For each lesson, we developed written introductions, transitions, and summaries to provide context and reinforce learning, while designing quizzes and assignments to promote engagement and retention.
Using the MemberPress LMS, we created a consistent, branded learning experience that reflected CWC’s professional identity. Custom-designed certificates of completion were integrated directly into the system, offering learners tangible recognition for their achievements. As the project expanded, AligneDesigns also developed fully localized versions of each course. The French versions were produced using AI translation tools, followed by a thorough review and revisions based on CWC’s feedback. For the U.S. audience, we carefully edited the content to reflect regional differences, such as measurement units and applicable standards, while embedding corresponding U.S. video content to ensure accuracy and relevance. Throughout the project, we worked closely with CWC’s internal team, facilitating regular reviews and lessons-learned meetings to ensure continuous alignment and quality improvement at every stage.
